Reflections

I've been living in Hoboken for over a year.  I started working at Parsons 13 months ago.  As I listened to yet another great band at Rockwood on Friday night, I was reminded of how truly blessed I am for everything that's happened in the past year.

I will always remember 2008 as the year I jumped off a cliff.  Left my first job, moved to another city, started and left grad school in the span of 5 months, and then concluded by breaking my back at the end of the year.  The year of 2009 started with a lot of uncertainty, but everything ended up coming together.  I'm feeling settled in my job-happy to be doing something I'm really good at and I enjoy.  I love my coworkers.  All of them.  It honestly feels like most mornings I'm heading to go hang out with friends rather than go to work.

I've met a lot of people here that I adore as well.  I love having a partner in crime in Sarah, and that I've gotten to meet so many great people through her.  Rockwood has completely reintroduced me to live music- something that I can't believe I went so long without.  I love my Hoboken family and the millions of crazy shenanigans they get into.  I look forward to Socapa this summer so I can see Nicolette all the time, and Josh completely won my heart by journeying unsolicited to Hoboken recently.  I love that Kate is here, and that we're still good friends even though it's been eight years since we met.  There is one friend I miss, and while I don't think it's something that will ever come back, I learned a lot about myself from that relationship.

I really can't imagine living anywhere else.  and I look forward to moving in with Amanda this Fall!
